Wayne Broberg | Broberg Physical Therapy

Wayne Broberg, MPT Owner

Wayne was born and raised right here in San Jose graduating from Piedmont Hills High School in 1994. There he began to prepare his love for sports and fitness. Taking physiology his senior year and playing football and baseball Wayne knew sports medicine was his track. Wayne was MVP of his baseball team and voted best defensive player for football. He was voted first team all-league for both sports and continued his love for sports playing Division I intercollegiate football for the University of the Pacific while obtaining his bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine. Wayne also received MVP honors for his play with the UOP Lacrosse team. It was during his rehabilitation for multiple sports injuries in college that Wayne decided to continue his education in the field of Physical Therapy. Wayne pursued his goal receiving his Masters of Physical Therapy degree at Chapman University. There he majored in Orthopedics and minored in gait analysis.
Poorva Kulkarni

Poorva Kulkarni, Co-Clinical Director, PT, DPT, MHS

Poorva has more than 8 years of clinical experience in treating medically complex conditions. She specializes in post-orthopedic surgery rehabilitation, total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and sports rehabilitation. She has a doctorate in Neurologic Physical Therapy with specialization in treating varied orthopedic, neurological, vestibular, and post-concussion conditions. She also has experience in performing oncology, pulmonary, cardiac, and prosthetic rehabilitation. She enjoys mentoring and being a clinical instructor for physical therapy students. She is knowledgeable in treating headaches (tension headaches, cervicogenic headaches, and TMJ headaches). She is proficient in manual therapy interventions; providing quality therapeutic exercise to assist patients in returning to their prior level of function. Her hobbies include playing badminton, traveling, and watching movies.
Ankita Ranga

Ankita Ranga, Co-Clinical Director, PT, DPT, AIB-VR/CON

Ankita received her Bachelor’s in Physical therapy from India after which she moved to the US to pursue her Masters in Biomechanics and Kinesiology from SUNY Buffalo. After gaining few years of work experience as a PT she completed her Doctorate in PT specializing in Neurology. In her 7+ years of experience she has worked in acute care, skilled nursing, and outpatient settings. While working for ATI physical therapy she got her certifications in vestibular and concussion therapy from American Institute of Balance in Florida. She has taught continuing education courses at ATI academy on Vestibular Rehabilitation and Concussion Management. In order to grow her clinical skills, she also gained certifications in Dry Needling and Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). She enjoys being a therapist and loves being a part of the rehabilitation journey of her patients. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, reading, and gardening.
Elizabeth Baker, PT DPT

Elizabeth Baker, PT DPT

Elizabeth enjoys helping people of all ages and abilities achieve their individual goals by reducing pain,improving mobility and strength, and thereby restoring function. She effectively does this by performing a thorough evaluation to determine the structures involved and provides personalized treatments that combine healing hands-on manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.

She earned a BS in Animal Physiology/Neuroscience from UCSD in 1999, and later a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in 2005. Initially working in Neurological PT and Cardiac Rehab, she has since focused on Orthopedic PT for the past 13+ years. She is skilled in addressing most musculo-skeletal conditions, including but not limited to orthopedic and spine surgeries, sports injuries, and working with competitive athletes. Additionally, she has extensive experience with balance training, chronic pain, nerve pain, and total joint replacements. She likes assisting people with foot/ankle pathologies by casting for and designing custom foot orthotics.

Outside of work, Elizabeth has many hobbies she enjoys with her family, including: horse-back riding,hiking/camping, sailing, snow boarding, rally-x racing, reading, baking, and gardening.

Rick Shon, PT DPT

Rick Shon, PT DPT, CSCS

Rick Shon, proud NYU graduate with the degree of Doctor of Physical Therapy. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. Prior to working at Broberg physical therapy, he has done clinical affiliations at Stanford, NYU Langone, COR physical therapy, and Coney Island hospital. His interests are weightlifting, sports and overall fitness.
Ruchita Shukla, PTA

Ruchita Shukla, PTA Physical Therapist Assistant

Ruchita graduated from Suny college of old westbury with a B.S in Biology and completed her Physical Therapist Assistant Degree from Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts. Ruchita`s treatment philosophy includes a combination of manual therapy, strengthening and stabilization, therapeutic exercise and patient education to promote lifelong changes that improve current conditions as well as help to prevent future injury. Ruchita enjoys trying new activities, traveling, photography, cooking, watching movies and playing board games.

Rainier Rivera, PT Aide

Rainier was born and raised in San Jose, California. His hobbies include spending quality time with his puppy, playing video games, and exercising. His interest in exercise and nutrition led him to attend California State University, East Bay and graduate with a B.S. in kinesiology in the summer of 2022. Rainier would like to continue his education and one day become a physical therapist.

Eric Damstetter, PT Aide

Eric was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. Throughout his life, he has always been playing sports such as ice hockey, football, and rugby. He gained his passion for physical therapy after suffering from multiple injuries/surgeries in which he experienced a lack of physical therapy so he learned exercises to help himself recover. He earned his B.S. in Kinesiology with a concentration in Rehabilitation Sciences from SJSU in the Fall of 2022. One day he hopes to be a Physical Therapist himself and to help those have a proper recovery. In his free time, Eric enjoys going on walks with his son and dog, cooking, and watching TV shows.
Jaci Ladringan

Ryleigh Vennie , PT Aide

Ryleigh grew up in northeast Pennsylvania and recently moved to the area to attend Santa Clara University. She is currently completing her final year at Santa Clara as a biology and neuroscience double major. In addition to her studies Ryleigh is a member of the Santa Clara dance team. Her time as a dancer led to her interest in physical therapy. After graduation, she hopes to continue her education and become a physical therapist.
