Wayne Broberg, MPT Owner
Wayne was born and raised right here in San Jose graduating from Piedmont Hills High School in 1994. There he began to prepare his love for sports and fitness. Taking physiology his senior year and playing football and baseball Wayne knew sports medicine was his track. Wayne was MVP of his baseball team and voted best defensive player for football. He was voted first team all-league for both sports and continued his love for sports playing Division I intercollegiate football for the University of the Pacific while obtaining his bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine. Wayne also received MVP honors for his play with the UOP Lacrosse team. It was during his rehabilitation for multiple sports injuries in college that Wayne decided to continue his education in the field of Physical Therapy. Wayne pursued his goal receiving his Masters of Physical Therapy degree at Chapman University. Poorva has more than 8 years of clinical experience in treating medically complex conditions. She specializes in post-orthopedic surgery rehabilitation, total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and sports rehabilitation. She has a doctorate in Neurologic Physical Therapy with specialization in treating varied orthopedic, neurological, vestibular, and post-concussion conditions. She also has experience in performing oncology, pulmonary, cardiac, and prosthetic rehabilitation. She enjoys mentoring and being a clinical instructor for physical therapy students. She is knowledgeable in treating headaches (tension headaches, cervicogenic headaches, and TMJ headaches). She is proficient in manual therapy interventions; providing quality therapeutic exercise to assist patients in returning to their prior level of function. Elizabeth enjoys helping people of all ages and abilities achieve their individual goals by reducing pain,improving mobility and strength, and thereby restoring function. She effectively does this by performing a thorough evaluation to determine the structures involved and provides personalized treatments that combine healing hands-on manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.
She earned a BS in Animal Physiology/Neuroscience from UCSD in 1999, and later a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in 2005. Initially working in Neurological PT and Cardiac Rehab, she has since focused on Orthopedic PT for the past 13+ years. She is skilled in addressing most musculo-skeletal conditions, including but not limited to orthopedic and spine surgeries, sports injuries, and working with competitive athletes. Additionally, she has extensive experience with balance training, chronic pain, nerve pain, and total joint replacements. She likes assisting people with foot/ankle pathologies by casting for and designing custom foot orthotics.
Outside of work, Elizabeth has many hobbies she enjoys with her family, including: horse-back riding,hiking/camping, sailing, snow boarding, rally-x racing, reading, baking, and gardening.
